Peter Horn, chancellor at International School of Management (ISM) in Paris, assumed the office of president of the Board of Directors for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Horn is the first president in ACBSP history affiliated with a school from outside the United States.
Horn received his Ph.D. in international finance from the University of California, a LL.M. in International Tax Law from Regent University School of Law in Virginia, and a MBA in finance and marketing from the University of California. He is the founder and CEO of Euro-Capital Group, Inc., an investment banking and private equity group providing services to an international private-banking clientele for nearly 20 years.
Horn became a member of ACBSP in 1998 when ISM began its accreditation process. He prepared the necessary documentation for ISM to achieve initial accreditation in 2000 and again in 2010 when the school went through the reaffirmation process. He has served on various ACBSP committees, including the Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners, for which he was first a member and then chair. He also served on the Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Faculty Credentials Committee. Horn has been instrumental in the growth of the International Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP Region 8), serving as president from 2009-11. He also served on the ACBSP Region 8 Task Force to hire Panos Kostakos, the Director of European Operations, and set up the ACBSP office in Brussels.
ACBSP is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as a specialized accreditation agency for business education. ACBSP currently has 1,134 member campuses, 167 of which are located outside of the U.S. Of those campuses, 572 have achieved accreditation and more than 485 are in candidacy for accreditation.
