Saint Leo’s New Business Building Will Be Hub for Online, Offline MBA Programs

December 15, 2011

A new state-of-the-art “green” school of business building at Saint Leo University in Clearwater, Florida, is the hub for the school’s traditional and online MBA programs.

The $12 million dollar building, which is in the final stages of competition, is LEED Gold-certified, utilizing the latest in eco-friendly building standards in energy and water efficiency.

The classrooms and lecture room in the new building are outfitted with two to four SMART boards per room. These SMART boards are equipped with cameras and interactive, high-definition screens that allow professors and on-campus students to interact with their online counterparts.

The building also has a soundproof broadcast studio for faculty to record lectures or other course material.
The school also believes its commitment to eco-business will create MBA graduates with the same principles.

Saint Leo alum Donald Tapia donated $4 million to the project. Tapia, who earned both his undergraduate and MBA online from the University, sits on the Board of Trustees and the building will be named in his honor.

Saint Leo is regionally accredited by Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the associate, bachelor’s, master’s and specialist degrees and holds a specialized accreditation from the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), which the school received in September 1999.
