Felena Hanson is the founder of Hera Hub, a unique business accelerator that caters to the needs of female entrepreneurs. The company, which is in the process of expanding to its third location, is based in San Diego and has approximately 200 clients including nonprofits, authors, and freelancers. According to Hanson, the company plans to expand to 200 business accelerators nationwide for 10,000 businesswomen by 2017.
Hanson has been an entrepreneurial leader in the San Diego community and spent most of her career in marketing. The success behind her business stems from valuable advice she has received over the years.
Hanson: “I’ve collected advice from various sources including my father, who was my mentor, a college professor, and several fantastic female entrepreneurs in the Hera Hub community.
“Determination – anything is possible… at least for those dedicated to making it happen.
“Passion – you must truly believe in what you’re doing, as you’ll spend the majority of your life working.
“Sincere – be genuinely interested in other people and support them with all your heart.
“Instinct – your first reaction to something is always right.
“Follow-through – do what you say you’re going to do – your word is everything.”
Hanson earned her MBA from the California State University-Dominguez Hills in 2001.
