Central Michigan University’s Master of Business Administration programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The AACSB began its accrediting in 1919, and gives its approval to approximately 5 percent of the world’s business schools.
The online school offers three MBA programs: IT, Value Driven Organization and Logistics Management. The programs consist of 27 core credit hours and nine to 16 advanced credit hour courses. For students with an IT emphasis, there is an additional 13 credit hours of SAP courses, adding up to 40 hours. Students in the Value Driven Organization program, which is the school’s most popular concentration, take 36 hours, while students in the Logistics Management program have 43 hours to complete.
The soonest an online MBA student can finish the cohort structured program is two and a half years. Students in the online MBA programs have seven years to complete their degree and must take at least two courses per semester as to not fall behind. The spring, summer and fall semesters are eight weeks long. There are two to three eight-week courses in a semester.
Central Michigan University will accept credit hours from another institution if those credits align with the required courses. Work experience could also be credited for hours.
The online MBA program has the same entrance and graduation requirements as the full-time and hybrid programs.
The requirements for applying to the Central Michigan online MBA program include:
- Completion of the graduate school application
- A résumé
- A cumulative GPA of 2.7 from an accredited four-year undergraduate school or a previous graduate degree is required
- Online students must show proof of work experience
