CTU has been providing career-focused students with a higher education since 1965 when its first campus was established in Colorado Springs. CTU online offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs in business and management, criminal justice and public administration, engineering and computer science, health sciences, and information systems and technology. The online master’s degree in business administration is designed to provide students with a diverse set of skills pertaining to business practices and management.

CTU has been institutionally accredited since 1980 by the Higher Learning Commission. The Higher Learning Commission has accredited degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions within the North Central region since 1895. This commission is one of two members of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, which is one of six regional institutional accreditors in the country. This association is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a reputable evaluator of post secondary institutions’ educational quality.

Student Life

With an online education from CTU, students have a flexible school schedule. Courses can be worked on at any time, as long as an Internet connection is available. In fall 2009 this online school’s graduate student population consisted of 2,765 students, all of which were enrolled full-time, according to College Navigator. Most of the students enrolled at CTU’s online school are career-driven professionals who desire to advance their credentials to establish themselves and advance within their industry.

If you want to apply for one of CTU’s MBA programs, you must be able to provide the following items:

  • A completed online admission application from the school
  • $50 application fee
  • Personal telephone interview with an Admissions Representative
  • High school or GED transcript
  • An official baccalaureate transcript from an accredited institution
  • Proof of an accumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale

CTU has an open admissions policy, meaning that if students meet all of the minimum requirements and submit all documentation completed and on time, they are likely to be granted admission into the school. Although CTU generally abides by this policy, they may exercise selective admission when it comes to some programs and admission may be a little bit more difficult to achieve. The admissions process can take anywhere from four to seven days, depending on how soon the telephone interview is conducted and all required application documents are submitted. Since the university functions on a quarterly schedule, students who missed one round of applications should be able to apply during the second round without any problems. In order to graduate a student must maintain a 3.0 CGPA, this ensures that every graduate is capable of conducting business practices and has adequately met the learning objectives of their MBA program.

Depending on a student’s current employer, they may be able to reduce their overall cost through tuition reimbursement.
