A not-for-profit, coed Catholic university that was founded in 1901, Dominican University’s original home was in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin where it was known as St. Clara College. It moved to its current location in 1922 and became known as Rosary College—it wasn’t until 1997 that it was given its current name.
With a diverse and expansive curriculum, Dominican College seems to have something for everyone. It is an especially appealing choice for those interested in online MBA programs in general management, as its program for that is completely online and flexible for busy students.
The university as a whole is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, with the Brennan School of Business holding accreditation for its MBA program from the AACSB.
A total of six sessions per year are offered, each in eight-week increments. Basic foundation courses include statistics, business law, and economics for managers, in addition to more advanced courses like corporate social responsibility.
Understanding that enrollees have professional and personal obligations that keep them busy throughout the year, all courses are presented in an asynchronous-learning approach.
Although no prior business courses are required for enrollment in this program, potential students do have a list of requirements they must meet and materials they must submit to be considered for admission:
- Completed Application
- Full Academic Record
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- Satisfactory score on the GMAT or GRE
- Two recommendations (from a current or past employer, professor, or professional colleague)
- Applicant’s personal statement and resume
It’s important for prospective students to realize that all application materials should be submitted at least one month before the semester in which they wish to enroll.
Tuition and Financial Aid
An important issue for a student enrolled in any academic program, not just those pursuing the Dominican University online MBA degree, tuition can make or break an individual’s decision to attend a particular school. Fully aware of this, the Dominican University fully discloses all fees and charges students can expect to encounter. Tuition is set at $870 per credit hour, with fees such as $50 for graduation, and $15 for each course tacked onto the overall amount due.
As with most schools, financial aid is available depending on personal eligibility. To determine whether you qualify for any assistance, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
