Edgewood College attempts to develop not only the intellect of every student that attends but also the spirit and heart. In teaching the Dominican intellectual tradition, students will be able to reflect appreciation, respect and encouragement. The school also stresses the importance of communities and encourages all students and faculty to experience the joy in making connections.


Edgewood College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The business school has met the requirements of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and has received its accreditation.


In the online MBA program at Edgewood, students can expect to earn the same education as students that attend the campus. All students can expect to experience a rigorous curriculum that is grounded in Dominican tradition. Each class community will comprise of 15 students or less, and will be instructed by faculty that are truly invested in academic success. Some of the online classes will follow an accelerated 8 week schedule, while others will work on a regular semester basis. Students will also be able to choose the option of taking some classes at the campus.

Students that enter the program are expected to have basic math and computer skills. There are additional foundation classes that students can take to ensure that they succeed throughout the program. As students move on to their core requirement classes, they will cover topics that will build upon the functional elements of business. There will be an additional three courses that students are expected to take at the end of the MBA program to expand upon the business tools that students have learned. Students that wish to earn a concentration can also use their elective credits as part of their additional concentration requirements.


The requirements for applying to Edgewood College’s online MBA program include:

  • Completion of the graduate school application
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimal undergrad GPA of 2.75
  • $25 application fee
  • Undergraduate transcripts
  • Two letters of recommendation that show professional or educational background
  • Written statement on how background experiences will make a candidate successful in a graduate program
  • Suggested two years work experience
  • GMAT scores. GMAT scores can be waived based on a student’s GPA, if they are military personnel, or if they have met all other undergraduate requirements. GMAT scores are not required from students that have an undergraduate degree from Edgewood within the last five years.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Students who enroll in Edgewood College’s Online MBA program for 2012-2013 can expect to pay a base tuition of $37,248. The cost per each credit hour is $776 and the total cost is based on a 48 hour program. There will be additional charges for students that need foundation classes or for those that choose a concentration. Edgewood College does allow tuition reimbursement for all companies that participate in the program.
