Introduction

As its name would suggest, this state-of-the-art educational facility is based in New York state. Offering a myriad of degree plans in a wide-range of subjects including nursing, emerging technologies and more, this school has a lot to offer incoming students.

In addition to the previously mentioned degrees its online MBA programs in general management are also noteworthy. Students enrolled in these specific plans will gain valuable leadership and reasoning skills they can’t get anywhere else.

Accreditation

The school is regionally accredited through the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. This authorization covers all degrees and certificates offered through the school. Plus, each and every program is approved by and registered through the New York State Education Department, meaning that an Empire State College online MBA means something.

Academics

Being a primarily online program, the school’s resources and tools will be available to you 24/7. Required courses will run the gamut of topics including marketing, economics and executive decision-making. Students will also have the option to take several elective courses that cover subjects such as entrepreneurships, human resources and more, so that individuals may find their niche and focus on it.

Admission

Directors of the program stress that there is a very selective admissions process, and in order to be considered, applicants will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Graduate Application
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 credits of accounting
  • 3-6 credits of economics
  • 3 credits of statistics
  • 3-5 years of managerial or professional experience
  • Computer/Internet literacy

Meeting these obviously does not guarantee you a position in the program, but it does open you up for the opportunity.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Like the majority of higher learning institutions in the country, Empire State College requires students seeking financial aid to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). From there they will determine your eligibility and qualifications for receiving assistance. It’s important to note that MBA tuition is generally a bit higher than that of other programs, simply because of the benefits and services that come with the degree plan. Plus, in addition to class costs, students will be charged additional fees for things like “health and wellness” as well as orientation. Any questions you have regarding your financial aid options or fee bill should be handled directly with a member of the university’s staff.
