Everest University has been accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) since 1965. ACICS is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as a reliable and reputable source for the evaluation of higher learning institutions. Accreditation is a voluntary procedure that involves both self-evaluation by Everest University and peer evaluation by the ACICS. To become accredited, a school must demonstrate that it is a fixed institution dedicated to providing students with the highest quality professors, curriculum and student services.
The MBA program at Everest University is available online and has been developed to give students a flexible, self-paced business education that will prepare them to become industry leaders in a modern business world. The MBA program offers the following specializations:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA): Specializing in General Management
- Master of Business Administration (MBA): Specializing in Human Resources Management
- Master of Business Administration (MBA): Specializing in International Business
With any specialization, students will become effective in planning, organizing, budgeting and managing while maintaining a leadership role. The curriculum combines long-standing business theory with the latest practical techniques, so students will develop a foundational business knowledge and the ability to make quick and effective use of the skills they have learned. Course work includes accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing, organizational behavior, quantitative methods, policy and strategy. Students will spend much time learning techniques of effective communication and inspirational leadership. The MBA program is also focused on providing students with access to the newest technologies and encouraging them to learn how to apply technology to research and problem solving. Graduates will be well equipped to enter into many areas of business, including general administration, public administration, small business and corporate management.
The online MBA program at Everest University is asynchronous, which means that classes are not held at a specific time. Instead, students can access course materials at any time of their choosing and complete their course work at their own pace. There is a definite timeline in which students will need to complete specific amounts of work, but students can do this at times that work best for their schedules. The university makes an effort to hire instructors who are not only experienced in their fields but who care about student progress. Class sizes are kept small, so students’ needs will be met by instructors, and students will never feel like just a number. Everest also offers a support staff, which is available to students 24/7 for all academic or technological issues.
There are four steps to the admission process for the MBA program at Everest University. First, applicants must participate in a phone interview conducted by a trained admissions representative. The representative will be looking to get to know each student and understand his or her educational history and career objectives. Admissions representatives will also be available during this time to answer any questions that an applicant may have concerning Everest programs and the admissions process. Second, students must complete the online admission form. The form will ask students for further detail about their previous education. Third, students will need to submit the financial aid form, which is an online survey that will help determine how much aid a student may be likely to receive. Last, students are asked to complete the enrollment packet online. According to the College Navigator, 78 percent of undergraduate students who applied to the Tampa campus of Everest University were accepted. This figure does not include online students, but may be reflective of the university system as a whole.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition rates vary from state to state and by program, so students need to get in touch with a representative from Everest to determine the exact tuition cost for their program. Everest University accepts all forms of payment for tuition. The student finance planners will help students create a payment plan that will be affordable and work well with their lifestyle. Finance planners also help students search for loans and scholarships to help supplement their education costs. Their accreditation allows Everest University to offer federal financial aid to their students. To qualify for federal aid, students must fill out a FAFSA that will then be sent to the business office of the university. Federal aid is available in the form of grants, scholarships, and loans. Only qualifying students may receive financial aid.
Why Everest University?
Everest University is committed to giving students any necessary support to help them achieve their academic goals. According to the university, its level of commitment to student support has prompted more and more students to pursue its programs, and Everest’s enrollment continues to climb as a result. Student support is given in all stages of an Everest education, from helping students set up their computers before courses begin to aiding them in career searches in preparation for graduation.
Everest hires professors who are experienced and highly knowledgeable within their fields. Students in an MBA program can rest assured that they will be working with educational materials that have been developed by reliable professionals. Not only are Everest professors chosen for their academic prowess, they must also have real world experience in their industries. Professors teaching in the MBA program will have had a broad background in business and plenty of experience navigating within a business atmosphere.
According to the College Navigator, the Tampa campus of Everest University reports a graduation rate of 34 percent. This, however, does not include graduate or online students. Additionally, the data are counted only for students who enter the university as “full-time, first-time” enrollees, and according to College Navigator, only 52 percent of entering students were considered to fit that description. So, these results do not necessarily indicate a graduation rate similar to that of students enrolled in an Everest online MBA program.
