Introduction

Established in 1894, Fitchburg State University has a long and robust history of offering practical educational options to students. Fitchburg State University was originally a secondary school for women, later became a teachers college, and now offers bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and postgraduate certificates in a number of different academic fields. The Fitchburg State University online MBA program is one of the school’s latest additions, and the program is rapidly establishing itself as a challenging and affordable option for those who wish to pursue a master’s degree program in business.

Accreditation

Fitchburg State University is regionally accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the Council for Standards in Human Service Education, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education. Specifically, the online MBA program at Fitchburg State University has been accredited by the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). Academics

Fitchburg State University’s online MBA students have the option to either sign up for the human resources track or the management track. Each track requires students to complete 10 courses, which count for a total of 30 credits. Both management students and human resources students are required to take marketing, finance, accounting, leadership, and organizational development classes.

Admission

Applications to Fitchburg State University’s online MBA program, one of the more competitive online MBA programs in Massachusetts, are considered on a rolling basis. All applicants are required to do the following before they are considered for admission:

  • Submit official transcripts from undergraduate institutions
  • Send GMAT or GRE scores
  • Turn in three letters of recommendation
  • Provide a professional résumé
  • Complete an online application to Fitchburg State’s graduate school
  • Pay a $25 application fee

Fitchburg State University also requires that prospective students have a minimum GPA of 2.8 and a formula score of 1000 to be considered for admission. (To find your formula score, multiple your GPA by 200 and then add your GMAT score.)
