Introduction

Established in 1974, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) risen to the top of the business education world. Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University has adapted its one-year MBA program to be available completely online. This provides busy, working adults with the opportunity to achieve their academic goals and remain employed while receiving a high-quality education based on professionalism, accountability, ethics and integrity, and knowledge and research. In addition to being easily accessible, the online MBA program allows students to advance their career and education at an affordable rate.

Accreditation

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University is fully accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (COC, SACS) to award their degrees. FAMU has also received specialized accreditation for their School of Business and Industry programs (including the MBA program) by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Academics

The FAMU online MBA program is comprised of 44 credit hours total. It follows a carefully developed program that is completed over four semesters, or approximately 16-18 months. Adapted from the one-year on-campus program, the curriculum is identical and the format exactly the same (with one exception of a slightly longer program timeline and a cohort system). Working with their classmates in the cohort system builds a sense of teamwork and unity even through an online format.

The online MBA program gives students a unique approach to education and learning and access to a wide spectrum of innovative opportunities. Designed to equip students with managerial and behavioral skills for leadership positions, graduates from this program will be able to compete for success in commerce, industry, and global business. Students are given the choice of focusing their MBA more in-depth in one or more of the following areas: accounting, marketing, information systems, finance, and supply chain management.

Admission

Students applying for admission to the online MBA program at FAMU, the following requirements must be met to the satisfaction of the university:

1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution
2. 1100 point requirement: last 60 hours of BS degree GPA x 200 GMAT score
3. Minimum upper division GPA of 3.00
4. Evidence of maturity and leadership

Tuition and Financial Aid

The approximate total per credit hour tuition cost is $792. At 44 credit hours, the total base cost for the online MBA program is about $34,850.

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University is committed to helping students figure out the best way to afford the cost of tuition for their degree program, whether that be through grants, scholarships, loans, or federal aid. Aside from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is the primary source of federally funded tuition grants, FAMU provides several opportunities for students to obtain scholarship money to help cover the cost of tuition.
