Introduction

Florida International University (FIU) is considered a first-tier research university by the Florida Legislature and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, one of the oldest and most prestigious academic honor societies in the United States. Florida International University is Florida’s third-largest university and enrolls more than 39,000 undergraduate students as well as approximately 9,000 graduate students. The admissions process to all of FIU’s undergraduate and graduate programs is highly selective, and the school aims to accept the best and brightest students to its impressive, growing online MBA program.

Accreditation

Florida International University has been regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges since 1974. Both its undergraduate and graduate schools of business are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The FIU online MBA program is a part of the school’s Chapman Graduate School of Business and is regionally accredited and recognized by AACSB.

Academics

Online MBA students at FIU are required to take 44 credit hours of graduate business classes before they receive their MBAs. The Florida International University online MBA degree program’s course work effectively prepares students to be successful corporate leaders. Specifically, students are exposed to what they need to know about finance, accounting, operations management, financial reporting, and business law.

Admission

Florida International University’s online MBA admission committee considers the prior academic records, professional experiences, and professional recommendations of students. Applicants to the FIU online MBA program are required to do the following to be considered for admission:

  • Send official college transcripts
  • Submit a professional résumé
  • Provide two recommendations from professional contacts
  • Complete an online graduate school application
  • Submit a personal statement

Students must have a GPA of at least 2.5 to be considered for admission into FIU’s online MBA program. Additionally, they must have a minimum of four years of work experience before they can be admitted to the program.

Tuition and Financial Aid

The cost of getting an online MBA from Florida International University is currently $37,500. As of now, FIU does not offer scholarships to its online MBA students. However, admitted students can work with a financial aid coordinator as they apply for loans and federal aid to finance their graduate educations. Online MBA students at FIU are expected to pay for their tuition before deadlines, regardless of the status of their financial aid and loans.
