Florida Tech University was founded as Brevard Engineering College in 1958 in an effort to offer options for continuing education to scientists, engineers and technicians working at the NASA site in Cape Canaveral. In 1961, the university moved to its home campus in Melbourne and then changed its name to Florida Institute of Technology in 1966. The university started its first off-campus program in 1972 and continues today with its online programs. Florida Tech offers a number of accredited associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees. All MBA students must take the foundation courses of Essentials of Business Development 1 and 2. Along with the foundation and core courses, students take classes within their specializations to total a required 36 credit hours for completion of the program.
All course work in the online MBA program is provided in an asynchronous manner, meaning that classes are not delivered on a set schedule. To be admitted to the MBA program at Florida Tech University, students must submit the following items:
