Introduction

Freed-Hardeman University is a private Christian university located in Henderson, Tennessee. Founded in affiliation with the Church of Christ, the university aims to provide students with an education grounded in Christian values. The school, while primarily an undergraduate institution, offers an online MBA program, in addition to master’s programs in Biblical studies, counseling and education, arts, and science.

Accreditation

Freed-Hardeman is accredited by the Commission of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Additionally, the business school has received its accreditation through the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Academics

The online MBA program at Freed-Hardeman offers students an MBA program that is built on an ethical and character driven perspective. The university believes that these qualities are important to students who want to succeed in life and in their business careers. Currently, the MBA operates as a 36 hour program allowing students to take classes online, in the classroom, or a combination of the two. Students will take 27 hours in basic core business classes and then finish their remaining 9 hours with an emphasis on a chosen topic. Students can choose accounting, corporate responsibility, or leadership. Each class will take eight weeks and students can start in January, March, May, August, or October.

For students who chose the emphasis on accounting, they can expect a program that will prepare them to take their Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination. Through corporate responsibility, students will earn a degree that will still be rooted in accounting, but will also concentrate on the technical mechanics of business. The leadership program is designed for students that are looking to be leaders in their future, or current, organizations.

Tuition and Financial Aid

For students entering the program, tuition will cost $18,720 based on a 36 hour program. Each credit hour will cost students $520. Some students will be able to receive tuition reimbursement through the university if their job allows for it.

School Resources

Freed-Hardeman understands the importance of technology and education. Starting in fall 2012, all students will receive an iPad. The iPad will serve as a learning tool for students no matter where they are. All students are expected to use a MacBook for all computing needs. These are often available at a discount through the school. In conjunction to these two tools, students will also use iKNow 2.0
