On September 21, 1898, Friends University opened its doors to students as an institution for higher learning and encouraged students’ spiritual growth and development. The university offered classes in liberal arts such as history, mathematics, German, and astronomy, and in the 1980’s they began to offer Mater’s degrees.

The Friends University Online is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is a member of the North Central Association. The school’s business programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

The requirements for applying to Friends University’s online MBA program include:
• Applicants must have completed a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and have at least a 2.75 grade point average (GPA)
• Submit an official transcript from the institute granting the bachelor’s degree or graduate degree
• Applicants need two letters of recommendation, one personal and one professional
• Completion of the interview process for the program
• Completion of the admission application and a $35 non-refundable admission fee
Tuition and Financial Aid
The cost of the base online MBA program is $22,716. It costs $631 per credit hour, and students are required to take 36 credit hours. There is also an online technology fee at $50 per credit hour. Financial aid is available to those students who need it, and have many different options to choose from. Students can choose from Federal Pell Grants, the PACE Grant, Federal Stafford Loans and institutional aid. All financial aid applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. In order to apply, students need to complete the Student Data Form and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), as well as any other documentation requested by the Financial Aid Office.
Online students at Friends University have access to the Self-Service Banner (SSB) which is where instructors post final grades, find transcripts, and class schedules. Students can also get to the Friends University library and can view different eBooks and find online tutorials for different classes. Students are also able to find tips and advice, to help them manage their online classes and course work, and can even talk to an advisor online.
