Introduction

Established as in institute of higher learning in 1969, Governors State University began operating unlike any other school. Initially, they did not offer grades. Instead, students were graded on their competencies, and all professors were ranked equally. GSU has now developed into a more traditional university and still strives to produce the best students.

Governors State University will provide students the opportunity to gain a in-depth understanding of business operations and management. The online MBA program will also allow students the opportunity to specialize in corporate entrepreneurship or in supply chain management. The new supply chain management program will allow students to start the program in January 2013.

Accreditation

Governors State University is regionally recognized by The Higher Learning Commission and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

The online MBA program is designed to provide business students with the operational foundation that they will need to be successful in the fast-paced economic climate. Problem solving, team work, leadership, and data analysis are just a few of the area that graduates will explore.

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to take their accredited degree and provide real world experience with their new skills. Students will be able to understand and compete in global markets, write business plans, create marketing campaigns, negotiate financing, serve as leaders or CEOS and even learn how to restructure a company.

The MBA program will allow students to gain basic operational experience and then specialize in topics that meet their goals. These specializations include: corporate entrepreneurship, finance, human resource management, international business, management information systems, marketing, and supply chain management.
