Green Mountain College has a long-standing history of strong teacher-student relationships since its inception in 1834. The colleges’s programs are founded on a liberal arts background with a heavy emphasis on the environment. Stemming from this, the Green MBA program, one of the first of its kind, was created and offered to students. Since then, Green Mountain has adjusted its MBA program to make it possible for students to complete the entire program online.

In keeping with the mindset of innovation and creativity, Green Mountain College seeks to promote creative and experimental learning methods. This is encouraged through internships, service-oriented learning opportunities, and studying abroad—all of which are available to online students. Students are prepared to be productive, caring, and responsible members of a global workforce. Diversity is highly valued at Green Mountain College as the students entering the programs have unique backgrounds with individual goals and learning styles.

Green Mountain College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education to award degrees to graduating students. The institution is also a member of the Association of Vermont Independent Colleges.

. The Sustainable MBA program from Green Mountain College is 100% online. Green Mountain has fifteen years of experience teaching students sustainability in a traditional and non-traditional format and has repeatedly been recognized for its mission to promote environmental education at a higher degree level. The Green MBA program specifically has been available to students since 2006.

The average class size is between 10-18 students, giving each of them a chance to receive a high level of personalized attention during the program. Without taking time off for breaks, a student can feasibly complete the entire degree program in 21 months. Not only do students receive one of the most unique MBA degrees available on the education market, but they will benefit from the diversity within the group discussions and the experience and knowledge of qualified professors. Although the entire degree is technically completed online, MBA students will be required to participate in two brief residencies on-campus to complete their course-specific material.
