Hope International University was founded in 1928 as a private, Christian university with a mission to empower students through higher education based on Christian principles. Originally the school was known as Pacific Bible Seminary and changed its name in 1962 after receiving accreditation. In 1997, the institution received university status and was renamed to Hope International University.

The regionally accredited university offers degrees on the bachelor, master’s, and certificate level to more than 1,300 students around the world. Students can choose between a delivery model of campus classes, online, or a combination of the two. Regardless of the format, students will benefit from the low student-faculty ratio of 14:1, which promotes better communication between faculty members and students. U.S. News & World Report ranked Hope International #22 in Regional Colleges (West) in the 2013 edition of Best Colleges.

Hope International University received full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
