Howard University is located in Washington, D.C., and has long served as a beacon of education rights for the African-American community. Howard has been nationally recognized for its business school and offers an Executive MBA online designed for top business professionals and leaders. The courses are developed and delivered by world-renowned Howard University faculty, and the program is one of the more prominent online MBA programs in D.C.
The Howard University School of Business and the EMBA program are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a global non-profit organization of educational institutions, businesses, and other entities dedicated to high-quality business education.
Howard University’s EMBA program is composed of 42 credit hours. There are 13 required courses and an MBA Fundamentals introductory course. The required courses include financial accounting, financial management, organizational behavior and leadership, marketing strategy, statistics and data analysis environment, strategic communications, legal and ethical issues in business, managing technology and innovation, managerial accounting, creating value through supply chain, applied economics for executives, managing the global business, entrepreneurship, and strategic management (capstone).
The Howard University online MBA program is designed to instill students with executive readiness, strategic thinking, fresh perspective, values, and connection.
Application deadlines are in February for summer terms, June for fall terms, and November for spring terms. The admission requirements are as follows:
- Undergraduate degree from and accredited college or university
- Minimum seven years professional experience, five in a management role
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 recommended
- GMAT recommended, but not required

- Three letters of recommendations, including a current supervisor
- $75 application fee
Transfer credits are not accepted. Foreign Students must submit a TOEFL exam with at least 550 on the written exam or 213 on the computer exam.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition for the EMBA includes 42 credit hours at $1,488.10 per credit hour, for a total tuition of $62,500.20. Students must also pay an enrollment fee of $500 and an application fee of $75, making the entire cost of attendance $62,575.20. Students should plan to pay around $800 per semester on books.
All qualifying financial aid is accepted at Howard University. Students must submit a FASFA and can qualify for federal grants, Stafford loans, and scholarships. Employer assistance programs are also accepted and encouraged.
