Introduction

Michigan Technological University – more commonly known as Michigan Tech or MTU – is a public research university that was founded in 1885. The college was established in response to a workforce gap that demanded more engineers to run the local copper mines. Today, MTU’s campus is widely comprised of engineering students; although the university offers 130 degree programs.
