Introduction

Through a 1960 education commission, Mount Vernon Nazarene University was chartered to be a college of the Church of the Nazarene. The school was built on the Lakeholm Farm which was originally used by OSU. The school began awarding four-year degrees in 1974 and was renamed Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2002.

Mount Vernon Nazarene believes that the college experience is about more than just classes. It is also about the life changing moments that occur in someone’s life. Through their curriculum, students will not only learn the material needed to succeed in life, but they will also develop their Christian values.

Mount Vernon Nazarene University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association and the Ohio Board of Regents. The business school has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
