Along with core business courses, students also take additional courses required of their chosen concentration. These elective courses focus on issues within those concentrations that are relevant to multinational corporations and global business practices to expand students’ knowledge and expertise in that specific area.
An online education from SIU makes it possible for students to earn a degree on their own time no matter what time zone they are located in. With no set campus locations or scheduled class times, students have the freedom to fit school into their life rather than trying to have a life in between school. Although there are still due dates and deadlines involved in these programs, it is up to students to decide when and where they best complete course work. SIU online MBA programs are designed for working professionals, nontraditional students and those with personal or family obligations. These Web-format programs adhere to the same high standards as those of a traditional format, and consist of the same syllabi, course content, learning objectives and textbooks. Along with readings, assignments and exams, course work involves case studies that enable students to apply their knowledge in a practical way as well as prepare them for managerial positions at small businesses and large multinational corporations.
If you want to apply for one of SIU’s MBA programs, you must be able to provide the following items:
- A completed online admission application from the school
- $20 application fee

SIU has an open admissions policy, meaning that applicants who meet the minimum requirements are likely to be granted admission. All graduate students will need to maintain a 3.0 GPA to be eligible for graduation.
