Accreditation

The Smith School of Business’ prestigious reputation is further supported through its accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). As the oldest existing specialized accrediting agency for business, the AACSB stamp of approval is well-regarded throughout the world. An online education at the Smith School incorporates asynchronous classes, live streaming seminars and on-campus residencies to create a well-rounded experience. During on campus residencies, students are assigned Action Learning Projects that offer hands-on experience with US and international businesses. Admission

There are six components to an Online MBA application at UMD:

  • Resume: A minimum of two years professional experience is recommended, though more is useful to be competitive.
  • Application Fee: A nonrefundable $75 application fee is required. This does not apply to UMD alumni and military students.
  • Essays: One required and one optional
  • Recommendation Letter: One professional or academic reference is required
  • GMAT/GRE Scores: One of these tests is required for admission. The requirement may be waived for exceptional candidates.
  • Transcripts: A 2.8 minimum GPA for undergraduate work is required.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition at UMD comes in at $1,481 per credit hour, totaling $79,974 for the complete program. A mandatory technology fee of $132 is charged twice a year. There is no difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition.

Financial aid is available in a number of forms. Applicants are automatically considered for a select number of merit based scholarships. Federal aid is widely available. In addition, the school has partnerships with corporate sponsors to offer scholarships, as well as veterans’ tuition assistance.
