While students entering the program are required to have at least two years of real world work experience, the typical student in the program averages between five and 15 years of experience, hails from the south and southeastern parts of the United States, is a mid-level manager.
The University of Mississippi’s business school is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a distinction given to only about 5% of the world’s business schools.
The Ole Miss professional MBA program consists of a 36 semester-hour curriculum designed for part-time students. The program may be completed over a two year period if a student chooses to take two courses each semester – fall semester, spring semester and summer session. Alternatively, a student may choose to enroll in courses at a rate of one class a semester. The curriculum focuses on developing the analytical skills and breadth of judgment that are essential elements in effective decision making for any organization. A thorough understanding of the functional areas of business is built from the required courses.
The following are the admission requirements listed for admission into the Ole Miss professional MBA program:
- An official GMAT score
- Submit an official TOEFL score (international student only)
- Two letters of reference.
- A current résumé.
- A statement of purpose
To be considered for admission, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited school with a 3.0 GPA and two years of post-graduate work experience. Admissions into the program, which currently has 50 students, is rolling and students can apply to begin at the start of any of the three semesters.
Meeting all of these requirements does not guarantee admission as the program is competitive with limited space available.
