The University of Scranton, which was founded by the Pennsylvania city’s first bishop in 1888, is a private Catholic and Jesuit university. It offers associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees on its campus and online in a variety of academic fields, including education, human resources and business administration. In addition to the general online MBA program, students can also choose to specialize in three areas: Health Care Management, Operations Management or Enterprise Resource Planning.

The online general MBA curriculum kicks off with a cornerstone course in Responsibility, Sustainability and Justice, and continues into core classes in accounting, operations management, marketing management and managerial economics. Students must also take advanced courses and a capstone course in business policy. Students who specialize in Health Care Management, Operations Management or Enterprise Resource training will take elective courses specific to those concentrations.

Student Life

Applicants will need to have earned at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school. GMAT scores are optional, but may bolster your likelihood of admission. Students will need to have earned a GPA of at least 2.75 in their undergraduate work to be accepted. After admission, students must take a mandatory tutorial on academic honesty and sign the university’s honor code.
