The University of St. Francis was established in 1920 in Joliet, Ill. and is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church through the Franciscan Order. The Catholic school is a small, private institution specializing in the liberal arts with approximately 3,000 students.
The University of St. Francis College of Business and Health Administration is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs. The university is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The online MBA program for the College of Business and Health Administration does not have a required time commitment for students to finish and is dependent upon the student’s semester course loads and enrollment patterns. Spring and fall semesters are 16 weeks long with the summer semester broken up into two eight-week modules. Students in the program must complete 36 to 48 credit hours to graduate. The school will allow up to nine credit hours to transfer from a different accredited school.
The school offers online MBAs with concentrations in management, logistics, health care and training and development. The online program will be offering a concentration in sustainability in the spring semester of 2013.
The university considers the quality of its logistics and health care administration MBA programs to be what separates its business school from other business schools.
The following are the guidelines for applying to the online MBA program at the USF College of Business and Health Administration:
- A GPA of at least 2.75 from an accredited four-year institution
- Submit graduate school application
- Personal statement, which includes an essay
- GMAT* – no minimum score required
- Two letters of recommendation (professional preferred)
- Transcripts from previous colleges or universities attended
There is no application fee for admittance to the program.
*Perspective students with at least two years of work experience can have the GMAT waived.

The University of St. Francis participates in a variety of student loan programs from federal and private sources that must be repaid.
