The University of West Georgia is located in Carrollton and was founded in 1906. From its humble beginnings as an agricultural and mechanical school, UWG has grown into a comprehensive university that offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees and is home to Georgia’s only honors college. The university is considered by The Princeton Review to be among the “Best Southeastern Colleges” and “America’s Best Value Colleges.” Along with traditional degree programs, UWG also offers many undergraduate and graduate courses online, including an MBA program.
Since 1936, the University of West Georgia has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges, which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
UWG’s Richards College of Business, which offers the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accredited WebMBA, is ranked among The Princeton Review’s “Best Business Schools” and is also a member of the Georgia WebMBA, a grouping of the state’s colleges that arrange MBA programs online for highly qualified students. The WebMBA program consists of a required orientation, 10 core courses and no electives. Students will such courses as Managerial Accounting, Global and International Business, Strategic Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Managerial Finance. The WebMBA program concludes with a capstone project in business strategy. Students whose undergraduate degree was not in business may have to take additional prerequisite courses.

The program is geared toward working professionals who need to balance school, their career and other responsibilities. Students at UWG also have access to online library and database resources.
Individuals applying for a spot in UWG’s WebMBA are required to have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of two years of professional business experience. They also must submit official transcripts from all other schools attended. Admissions staff will consider an applicant’s undergraduate GPA, GMAT scores and letters of recommendation when making admissions decisions.
Tuition and Financial Aid
The total tuition for the WebMBA program for both in-state and out-of-state residents, as well as those from other countries, is currently $19,350, according to the Georgia WebMBA website.
